Overview

Color or Die is a Roblox survival-escape experience by BIGworks Games (creator Kooki). With over a billion visits, players navigate color-coded mazes, collect paint buckets and brushes, hide on matching walls from monsters, and unlock tool doors to reach the white bucket and clear each chapter.

Core loop: Pick up a paint color → stand on walls of that color to survive → find keys, tools, and brushes → open the next door → repeat until you obtain white paint and finish the chapter.

  • Players per server: Up to 15
  • Chapters: 4 main chapters (plus hub areas between runs)
  • Premium bonus: Roblox Premium grants +1 speed
  • Genre: Survival / escape — mild violence rating
  • Roblox experience ID: 12931609417

Co-op helps: teammates may hold different colors or tools, so communication speeds up door chains and monster distractions.

Codes

As of our last check, Color or Die has no working promo codes and no in-game code redemption menu. This has been true since launch according to major Roblox news outlets. Sites listing codes like NEWMAP or BIGWORKS are often outdated or misleading.

Why you cannot redeem codes today

Unlike many Roblox titles, Color or Die was built without a code-redeem UI. Without that interface, developers cannot activate standard promotional codes even if they wanted to.

How to get rewards without codes

  • Complete chapters and earn badges
  • Purchase gamepasses and developer products in the in-game shop
  • Spin the wheel for occasional rewards (including extra lives on some versions)
  • Equip Premium for the permanent +1 speed boost

If codes are added later

  1. Launch Roblox and open Color or Die
  2. Look for a new Codes or Settings button after an update
  3. Enter the code exactly as published by BIGworks Games on official channels
  4. Claim rewards before listed expiry dates

We monitor Roblox update logs and developer announcements. Bookmark this section — we will update it the day an official code system ships.

Controls

PC / keyboard

ActionDefault
MoveW A S D
JumpSpace
Interact (doors, buckets, tools)E (or click prompt)
CameraMouse

Mobile / tablet

  • Virtual joystick — movement (left side)
  • Jump button — bottom right
  • Interact — tap the on-screen action button when near objects
  • Camera — drag to look around

Mobile is fully supported but many players find precision obbies and fast monster escapes harder on touch controls. Lower graphics settings can improve frame rate during chases.

Tips for smoother controls

  • Toggle Roblox shift-lock if you need steadier camera in narrow halls
  • Use headphones — audio cues warn when monsters are nearby
  • On PC, avoid carrying items that block vision before sprinting from Ross or Bob

Walkthrough

Each chapter follows the same goal: collect every required paint and tool, survive monsters, and reach the white bucket. Death usually resets you to your last safe paint unless you own an extra life from the wheel or gamepass.

Chapter 1

  1. Red door → Screwdriver
  2. Vent door → orange paint (small obby)
  3. Orange door → yellow paint
  4. Yellow door → green paint (obby)
  5. Green door → teal paint
  6. Return to vent obby → Triangle
  7. Green door again → blue paint
  8. Blue door → Saw
  9. Yellow door → wood plank + purple paint (obby)
  10. Purple door → Hammer
  11. Red door again → pink paint
  12. Pink door → Key
  13. Yellow door → final paintbrush (key door in obby)
  14. Paintbrush door → white paint
  15. Safe zone → white door → choose one of four exit doors (RNG difficulty)

Chapter 2

Unlock after beating Chapter 1 and using hub elevators. Features monsters Ross (main hunter) and Bob (steals your color). Key route:

  1. Orange room → yellow bucket & brush (wire puzzle if metal door closed)
  2. Green room → teal
  3. String obby floor → teal room progress
  4. Blue room → torch & brush
  5. Purple room → keycard & brush
  6. Keycard door ring obby → crowbar
  7. Green room again → pink bucket & brush
  8. Pink room → key
  9. Collect remaining brushes → paintbrush door → white bucket

Chapter 3

Higher difficulty with additional obbies and multi-monster pressure. Finish Chapter 2, ride the hub elevator, and follow color doors in the order your lobby paint allows — prioritize safe-wall hiding when Ross patrols open areas.

Chapter 4

Access: Earn an Escaped ending on a prior chapter, then enter the spiral elevator in the hub (10-second countdown).

Requirement: 13 paintbrushes plus tools including key code, book, gear, and staff pass.

  1. Red room → puzzle piece
  2. Complete vault / bookcase puzzles for orange and later colors
  3. Use book on bookcase, gear on mechanisms, staff pass on restricted doors
  4. Track brushes on a checklist — missing one blocks the white door

Maps & Routes

Color or Die maps are maze-like with safe zones (spawn hubs), color rooms, and connecting vents or obbies. Walls you can hide on match your current bucket color — plan routes that keep a painted wall within one sprint.

Route principles

  • Backtracking is normal — many tools require visiting an earlier door with a new item
  • Vent doors often hide obbies; memorize the return path
  • Four exit doors in Chapter 1 are luck-based — community calls them speed-run gates
  • Chapter 2 wire puzzle — connect nodes in multiple rooms if the metal door stays shut
  • Chapter 4 secret rooms — e.g. near teal knob door east side; check Fandom for updated entity spawns

Draw your own sketch on paper: mark safe zone, each color room, and monster patrol lanes. Teams can split — one player distracts Ross while another grabs buckets.

White bucket is the chapter win condition — do not use it early; reach it only after brush requirements are met.

Monsters & Entities

Ross (Chapter 2+)

Primary hunter. Patrols wide areas and kills players not touching a valid color wall. Listen for audio stingers and loop back to safe paint immediately.

Bob (Chapter 2+)

Slower, jumps around, and can steal your current color, forcing a re-run to the last bucket. Hide until Bob leaves or coordinate team bait.

Chapter 1 monster

Chases when you are out of paint range. Always keep your active color equipped before crossing open halls.

General survival

  • Stand flush against color walls — partial contact may still register a kill
  • Extra Life gamepass or wheel reward respawns you at last color instead of full reset
  • Loud Sound badge hints at jump-scare audio — lower volume if needed

Gamepasses & Badges

Notable gamepasses / products

  • Running Shoes — movement boost (shop)
  • Starter Pack — bundle for new players
  • Exclusive Bucket / Trail — cosmetic rewards
  • Extra Life — respawn at last color on death (also from wheel)

Win rates drop sharply after Chapter 1 (community stats ~6% Ch1 badge vs under 1% later chapters) — invest time learning maps instead of rushing purchases.

Tips & FAQ

Pro tips

  • Play in a party — split color fetching and call out monster locations
  • Memorize one safe loop per chapter before speed-running
  • Premium + Running Shoes stack movement advantages for obbies
  • After updates, re-check vent paths — developers add rooms periodically

FAQ

Is there an official Trello? No verified public Trello exists. Avoid random "Trello link" sites — many are scams or malware. Use this wiki, the Roblox game page, and the community Fandom wiki instead.

Are the codes on YouTube real? Usually no. Treat unsolicited code videos as clickbait until BIGworks adds an in-game redeemer.

Can I play on mobile? Yes, but obbies and monster timing are harder; use landscape mode and reduce graphics if lagging.

How do I reach Chapter 4? Get the Escaped ending, then use the hub spiral elevator.

Scripts

We do not host, link, or endorse Roblox scripts or executors for Color or Die.

Third-party scripts (ESP, auto-collect, noclip, speed hacks) violate the Roblox Terms of Use and can lead to permanent account bans. Downloading "free executors" often installs malware.

Legitimate improvement comes from map knowledge, team coordination, gamepasses bought inside Roblox, and practice — not injected Lua.
